Friends

I have wanted to write sooner but haven’t had much time. I guess the crunch of the holiday season is really upon us.

The best part of this week was finally meeting Claire. I met up with her and Christine on Monday. We went out to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and lots of cheesecake. The conversation was great and we shared lots of laughs. We also took Claire to the Half Price bookstore. I think she was in awe. By the way, go check Claire’s blog to read about her first trip to the U.S.

I got to see both girls again on Wednesday for a little side trip to the Dallas Galleria. Unfortunately we didn’t know that all the stores would be closed by 6:00 p.m. but we consoled ourselves by going to a cafe and having a messy, delicious chocolate cake.

In book news I highly recommend Memory of My Melancholy Whores by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. If you are a fan of his you will no doubt want to read this book. I know I loved it. Another good read is Don’t Look Back by Karin Fossum. A police procedural set in a small town in Norway.

Now to go raid the bookshelves in hopes of another good read.
