Cold

Funny how I have felt colder here than when I was traveling in Germany a few weeks ago. We’ve had cold temperatures (well, cold for Dallas standards) and I proved my point that cold weather is not too bad if you can escape it by enjoying hot chocolate in a quaint café. I don’t have any quaint cafes nearby but here are my remedies for enjoying a cold day.

Read a book set in a warm location. I finished reading Losing Gemma by Katy Gardner. A novel about two girls traveling in India, a bit like The Beach, if you will.

Check out the latest issue of Lucky Magazine. Yes, the magazine about shopping. Look at all the lovely sandals and think of warm days to come.

Protect your lips with the Literati Lip Balm. It comes in ShakeSpearmint, Bronte Berry, Alcott Apricot or PoeMegranate.

Read out loud Pablo Neruda’s Night on the Island.

All night I have slept with you
next to the sea, on the island.
Wild and sweet you were between pleasure and sleep,
Between fire and water.

If this doesn’t raise your temperature a bit then I don’t know what will.

And, finally, sorry to those of you who have tried commenting and can’t. I am slowly working through that and hope to find a fix for the comments soon. Thank you for trying.
