“In the Spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.” ~ Margaret Atwood.
Isn’t that a great quote? I saw it somewhere online last week and really liked it. I wish I could say I have been playing outside a lot myself but not really. Although sometime last week it was a beautiful day when I got home from work and I went for a walk around the neighborhood. I need to do that more often.
Anyway, I’ve been a bit busy at work so I just haven’t felt like blogging much. Sorry! I think my mind has also been on travels. Not going anywhere anytime soon but it’s nice to start planning isn’t it?
So I’m still plugging along with the Fatal Error by J.A. Jance (the audiobook). I’m up to chapter 25 and I am sure I’ve missed lots of little details but I feel like I’m finally getting the hang of audiobooks. Yay. I typically like to listen to music while on the treadmill but this isn’t so bad.
I’ve received a lot of new books which I need to post about. So much good stuff to read – I need more time! And, I’m so excited the Once Upon A Time reading challenge hosted by Carl V. is back. I will put together posts on these soon.
I did have two DNFs recently but I think sticking with The Reckoning by Jane Casey has hopefully broken that bad circle. I’m really enjoying this book and should be finishing it up soon. So that’s the scoop around here. I hope you’ve had a great weekend!
I am very ready to play in the dirt. I had bright yellow crocus peaking through the uncleared dead stuff from last year that I need to clean up but today it is 12 degrees? Cold! So … Anyway, I am ready to get outside… Fall used to be my favorite time but now I am an enthusiastic Spring lover.
Yay for your audio book! Howmany hours is it? You’re a chapter-breaker, huh? I must be the only one who doesn’t care at what point I stop reading and enter my bookmark. Happy OUAT Challenging
Love the quote–even though I have done little gardening so far this year.
I’m still not an audio book person, but maybe someday I’ll get around to it.
Love the Atwood quote! I can hardly wait to smell like dirt! Too bad about the DNFs and work being so busy, no wonder you are dreaming of a vacation 🙂
That is a great quote by Margaret Atwood 🙂
I’m doing Once Upon A Time too, I look forward to seeing your book picks!
That is a great quote! I really want to go and plant some things soon. I can’t wait to see your picks for OUaT.
With my daughter’s help, I’m sure I will have many days this spring in which I will smell like dirt towards the end of the day. 🙂 We have been enjoying the pleasant weather.
I have been dreaming of traveling too. I don’t think we will be able to this spring and summer–too many other priorities which will cost us a bundle–but maybe we can do some fun, inexpensive day trips here and there.
I hope you have a great week!
That’s a great quote! I think you aren’t the only one feeling the draw of spring–it has been very quiet online (certainly in my part of the blogosphere!). I am going to take a little extra time off as well–try and get in some extra reading maybe. I’ve had lots of good books come through the door, too. I’m listening to a mystery on audio, too–The Wicked Girls. Great reader, but it is sort of a challenge to keep all the details straight.
It’s still(!) snowing out here and we don’t even get too much snow in central VA. Not that I am complaining because I do love snow a lot but yes, spring would most definitely be welcome too. It would be nice to see some rich colors around.
We finally got some really nice weather which meant spending an afternoon outside playing with the kids. It also meant that the kids slept really well that night which is always nice 🙂 I need to get back to Casey’s series as well. I read the first one last year but haven’t picked up the 2nd one yet. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it!
