After a recent breakup sent her into a self-imposed “personal hiatus,” thirty-something New York TV-promo producer Tori Miller is determined to get a life. The fastest way? A Hamptons summer share house.

One minute Tori was enjoying her best friend’s wedding, she had a good job and a guy she had fallen for but next thing she knows on the cab ride home he decides to end their relationship and the next few months will be a blur.

Tori’s friends finally think enough is enough and motivate her to get a life. Of course, this means first getting a make-over as her personal style has really been suffering since the break-up, and even better, some of her friends have just gotten the go-ahead for a reality show pilot – Three-on-One, a make-over show!

Tori reluctantly agrees to the pilot, gets made over, hopes the pilot will never show and joins the residents at her new summerhouse as the new-and-improved Miller. Good thing too because she is now living with three girls and three guys who are determined to keep busy every weekend by going to as many parties and social gatherings as they can.

With Tori’s new life comes a new set of rules she wasn’t prepared for. There are a lot of hook-ups, in-fighting, and of course a good dose of romance. Will Tori choose the right guy this time? And, what about the fact that her best friend now tells her she’s changed too much? Isn’t that what the point of this experiment was?

Like in any chick-lit novel, the main character wants to find love and happiness and Tori is no exception but she is a good, full-fleshed character who doesn’t just care about shoes or drinks. Tori is a successful business woman who just happened to go through a hard time. You can’t help but want her to be happy, with the right guy of course.

There are some good laugh-out-loud moments, especially in the beginning of the novel, and the reader really feels like they are part of the jet-set Tori mingles with. A fun, breezy novel perfect for the beach.
