Settle down with a cup of tea and some pastries to enjoy this quick and pleasant read, The Tea House on Mulberry Street. The Muldoon’s Tea Rooms is home to Penny and Daniel Stanley, whose marriage is about to be put to a test. Mainly, by Penny’s decision that her life needs a revolution just like the tea house needs some major renovations.
This novel is a collection of different characters’ stories and how they all converge. There is Brenda, the starving artist who passes her time writing letters to Nicolas Cage. Sadie has just found out of her husband’s infidelity and finds refuge in the sweet confections at the tea house. And, a host of other characters trying to make sense of their lives.
Each chapter is a quick read and even though there are multiple characters with multiple storylines each character is well drawn and you care to know what will happen to them. There are some surprises but nothing earth shattering.
This book is the perfect companion for when you want some light reading.
