I stopped over at Shelly’s Books and she posted another meme I couldn’t pass up. This time it’s on series books so here are my answers:
Name 3 of your favorite series
The Rei Shimura series by Sujata Massey
The Adam Dalgliesh series by P.D. James
The Sweeney St. George series by Sarah Stewart Taylor (only two titles so far but it’s a good start)
Name 3 series you think went on too long
The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. I thought her latest, Ten Big Ones, was funny nevertheless her main character really hasn’t changed much in the past nine books. I fear it may be over between us.
The Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Enough with the fashion obsession and trying to impress us with so much violence it becomes yawn-inspiring.
The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. Anne, you did really well with Interview With a Vampire and I could even give you a pass on The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned but the others shouldn’t have even been started.
Name 3 books you wish had been series
I thought about this one a lot and couldn’t come up with any one book but I do wish some writers would give a series a try. I think Minette Walters, Susanna Jones and Carol Goodman could come up with some incredibly interesting characters and situations.
