A Visit

It pays to be a good BookGirl because I got a visit from Saint Nikolaus last night. He left me some Ghirardelli dark chocolate and the Friends Season 9 DVD set. My husband and I take full advantage coming from different backgrounds. We celebrate German, Mexican and American holiday customs. Anything that involves more presents. Heh.

Today I gave a speech to a group of students some coworkers and I mentor at a local high school. My presentation was on good manners and etiquette. I’ve been involved in mentoring these students for a couple of months now and it’s been a truly rewarding experience. Of course, I also keep mentioning reading and books. Hey, I’ve got to convert as many kids as I can into being bookworms right?

I also spent some time with my Foreign Authors book group tonight. We didn’t have a book to discuss, as we typically break for December, but it was nice to sit around and chat about the latest books we are reading and our other hobbies.

Also thank you to Cleo who left me a comment with some suggestions on cozy mysteries. I will look for those! Now, I’m off to enjoy a book and some of that chocolate.
