Whirlwind

Guess what? I got a chance to spend some time with my Abuelita* this weekend! I hadn’t been able to see her in some time and I was thrilled to get a big hug from her and just share stories, laughter and even a few tears. I talk with her on the phone but it’s not the same as being together.

So, please excuse my absence from Blogland. I have fallen behind in visiting, answering comments, emails, you name it but I plan to catch up this week.

I also fell a bit behind on my reading although I did finish the very wonderful book, One Day by David Nicholls, which almost made me cry. Have you read it? You should.

Tonight, if I can manage to stay up a bit later then I may just dip into The Transit of Venus by Shirley Hazzard which the Slaves of Golconda will be discussing next week.

More bookish stuff soon.
