Life According to Literature

Dorothy W. just posted this wonderful meme and I couldn’t pass up on it. Check it out and I bet you’ll want to give it a go too.

Using only books you have read this year (2009), answer these questions. Try not to repeat a book title. It’s a lot harder than you think!

Describe yourself: The Last Queen (C.W. Gortner) heh.

How do you feel: When You Are Engulfed In Flames (David Sedaris). It’s hot here in Texas.

Describe where you currently live: Among the Mad (Jacqueline Winspear)

If you could go anywhere, where would you go? Villa Serena (Domenica De Rosa)

Your favorite form of transportation: Sleepwalking in Daylight (Elizabeth Flock)

Your best friend is: Somebody Else’s Daughter (Elizabeth Brundage)

You and your friends are: Independent People (Halldor Laxness)

What’s the weather like: In A Dry Season (Peter Robinson)

You fear: Sights Unseen (Kaye Gibbons)

What is the best advice you have to give: Hold Love Strong (Matthew Aaron Goodman)

Thought for the day: What It Is (Lynda Barry)

How I would like to die: Reading in Bed (Sue Gee)

My soul’s present condition: The Richest Season (Maryanne McFadden)

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Great answers! I love the one about how you want to die — reading in bed would not be a bad way to go!

That’s a cute meme, but I couldn’t make it work! Boo! So I’m impressed with your answers. Nice one. :-)

  5. Dana Huff http://www.danahuff.net/

This would be too hard for me; I don’t read as much as you! I nominated you for a Zombie Chicken Award for Most Agreeable Blogs: http://www.danahuff.net/?p=1140.

Glad to know that your vacation has refreshed your mind and that the heat hasn’t made it sluggish.

Veens – Aren’t they funny? I see some of the neighbors I have in my area of town and a bit crazy is a good way to describe them. I love it :) I’ll be looking forward to your list!
Sandy – You should give it a try! I’d love to see what you’d come up with!
Dorothy W. – Being that I love mysteries I had some titles that would probably fit very well but they were kind of scary! haha.. I thought Reading in Bed was the most kind.
Scott – Oh you never know. You should give it a try! At first I thought it was going to be a bit hard but actually it was fun :)
Dana Huff – Aw, thank you for the award! I love zombie chicken :)
Isabel – Well, I don’t know if it really refreshed my mind but it was great to get away from some of the heat for a while! Do the meme. I want to see what you come up with! :)
    roxane – it’s fun isn’t it?

Fun but very clever on your part and it shows how many books you have read in 8 months. Very impressive all around.

  10. Les in NE http://lesleysbooknook.blogspot.com

What a fun meme! My book count is very low this year, but I’ll see if I can come up with a fun list, too. Loved yours!!

  16. tanabata http://tanabata.blogspot.com

Those are great! I saw this somewhere else too but somehow the books I’ve read this year just don’t seem to fit very well.

  17. Stefanie http://somanybooksblog.com

How nice that you had a title like REading in Bed to fil in the how you would like to die question!

  18. Bookgirl http://www.bookgirl.net

tanabata – It was fun to do. I thought for sure I wasn’t going to have any titles that fit but surprisingly they fit!
Stefanie – That was perfect right? Some of my mystery titles would have fit too but they were a bit too gruesome :)

  19. Danielle http://www.danitorres.typepad.com

It’s fun to read everyone’s answers! Did you like the Sue Gee book? I read one of her other novels and loved it–am wondering if her other books are as good!

  20. Melanie http://www.indextrious.blogspot.com

I loved this meme; some of your answers made me laugh out loud. I found it really fun to do as well, thanks to Dorothy’s influence. :)

  21. Bookgirl http://www.bookgirl.net

Danielle – I liked it ok. I’ve read another of her books which I liked a lot better but I’d still read more by her. It was entertaining but I just had a couple of quibbles with it. I’ll have to post a review of it soon!
Melanie – Ooh, I need to catch up on your blog and see your answers! :) It was so fun to do wasn’t it?
