This, That & Winners
First, let’s go to the winners as I’m sure you can’t wait to find out who won from my Tudormania Giveaway. Thanks to Random.org, the two winners are Dorothy W. & Nicole. Congrats ladies – just send me an email with your details.
Thanks again to everyone who participated in the drawing and to Sourcebooks for letting me host the giveaway. And, as I really enjoyed Margaret Campbell Barnes two books I was wondering if any more would be re-released so I asked and yes, a new book will be coming out but not until next Fall.
If you still want to try and win some books I know Wisteria at Bookworm’s Dinner, Heather from The Library Ladder and Katherine from A Girl Walks into a Bookstore all have giveaways going on (I’m sure there are many others but these are just the ones I saw tonight) so go visit them and check it out. I’ll be announcing a couple of other giveaways soon too!
So moving on to other things, happy Banned Book Week everyone! Are you reading something dangerous? I’m sure my shelves have quite a few books that have been challenged but I’m still trying to finish up some of my current reads before I take on any new books. If I get a chance though, I’ll try to pick up The Chocolate War, which I was supposed to read for my Year of Reading Dangerously challenge anyway. Oh, I’m so behind on my challenges.
I did manage to get to the library this weekend but I was very good and didn’t check out any books. I mainly went to catch up on my reading and browse through some of the magazines. Of course I made a small pit stop at their book sale shelf and I lucked out and found Resistance by Owen Sheers. So I put that and the latest BookPage in my book bag and was a very happy Bookgirl.

I’ve not been doing a lot of reading lately… you see, my bundle of joy arrived last Saturday so she’ll take up most of my time nowadays!

October 1st, 2008 at 9:59 amThe trouble with dangerous books is that it is so easy to find something that someone has objected to. I could just turn round and pick up a ‘Harry Potter’. I hope you enjoy “The Chocolate War’. I love Cormier. If you haven’t already read it, try ‘After the First Death’.
