Countdown to the Weekend

I know for many in the States this weekend is a holiday weekend but unfortunately it won’t be a long one for me as I have to go to the office on Saturday. It won’t be all day so that’s good as I’ve got lots of plans. Mainly involving a lot of cutting, gluing and sewing.

I also started a new book which I would like to dip into more. The Headhunter’s Daughter is Tamar Meyers second book in her series set in Africa. I liked the first one quite a bit so I’m looking forward to reading this one.

One of the things I wanted to do this weekend was go to the library as I haven’t gone in a couple of months but it’s closed all weekend so my visit will have to wait for another time.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend and more book talk soon!

Link-O-Rama

I finished my book last night and now I’m ready for a new one but I just don’t know which one next. I’m sort of in the mood for a good family drama. I’ll have to go hang out by my stacks and see what captures my attention so a quick post today but I wanted to share some fun stuff:

  • Little Free Library. Isn’t this cute? I think every neighborhood should have one of these.
  • For those of you who enjoy bookplates, you can even one for your eReader!
  • Love Penguin book covers? I couldn’t resist and had to buy a sheet of this paper. Don’t know what I’ll make with it yet.
  • Speaking of bookmaking, wouldn’t you like your very own Jane Austen novel – special book covers, binding style?
  • Last but not least, I studied bookbinding with this very talented artist and now he’s won quite a special prize. So well deserved.

Alright guys, I’m going to get one of the last pieces of German chocolate I brought back from my vacation, go find a book and relax the rest of the evening.

When I went on vacation in July I had stocked up my Kindle with some books and also thanks to NetGalley I found some good reads but pretty much as soon as I came back the Kindle has been put away and it’s back to my stacks of books.

And, my how those stacks grew over the summer. I finally opened up all of my packages this past weekend and here’s the book bundle:
