Knock, Knock…

Is this blog still on? Yes, it is but goodness it’s been a bit hectic around these parts. We had a great vacation in Germany and came back to just a lot of stuff going on. My work has been so hectic, I’ve had family in town the last two weekends and so on. You know, I think I’m ready for a return trip to Germany.

Anyway, sorry for the lack of posts. I’m going to have to do a mark all as read in my Google reader, which I hate to do but it’s creating a bit more stress for me seeing that. So please forgive me. I promise I want to catch up with you and I plan to take time to do that this week.

And, yes, I will get back to regular book talk soon because I have to tell you about books read, the books currently on my nightstand and the packages that were waiting for me.

Have a wonderful week and see you in blogland!

Savoring…

We are getting ready to head back home so I’ve been trying to soak up as much as I can of all the things I enjoy when we are in Germany. The last few days we spent a bit of time at this bookstore (one of my absolute favorites), had dinner and lots of laughter with one of our friends in Braunschweig, and went to a family party.

Sunday we had really great weather and like many others around, we took our bikes out for a nice, long bike ride. This was taken near the windmill museum.

Of course after the bike ride, a stop at the Schlosscafe for cappuccino was in order. And, we also picked up some treats for an afternoon of cake and tea with my father-in-law.

Finally, to bring this back to books I’ve read seven books so far. This is definitely going to make September my best reading month this year. Gotta love vacation.

So, off to pack and take in another quick bike ride. I’ve missed reading your blogs sweet friends and I do look forward to reconnecting with you once I’m back home.

Fun In Heidelberg

We’ve had some wonderful moments in Heidelberg over the past few days. We’ve visited the castle, enjoyed a boat cruise and learned a bit about the city. Here are some pictures of what we’ve seen:

View of Heidelberg from the Castle.

A “free” library. You can take a book and leave one behind if you like.

On a walk along the Philosophenweg.

Have enjoyed so many goodies.

We’ve spent some time in Hannover and in the next few days we’ll also be in Braunschweig to visit some friends.

I’ve also been enjoying a lot of good books and can’t wait to tell you about them. I’m happy to report that the Kindle is working great! Of course I’ve visited a couple of bookstores, although I haven’t bought anything yet, but I’m taking note of book titles and will be sharing all of that soon.
