Ready for the Weekend

Everyone have big plans for the weekend? I am hoping to finish one book, or maybe two. I’ve fallen behind on my R.I.P. Challenge so I’d love to start a scary story over the weekend.

I still have my B&N coupon so the husband and I are spending Friday evening at the bookstore. Let’s see who gets to use the coupon. Ha,ha. I’m looking forward to checking out some magazines and seeing what new books are on the shelves.

And, I’m very excited about Saturday because I’m taking a bookbinding workshop. I finally get to learn coptic stitch. You can see some samples of coptic stitch bound books here. I promise to post pics of my finished project.

So I’m off to finish Saturday. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Saturday So Far

“Finally, a hundred pages in, she fell for Jane (Eyre) and would hardly stop for meals. When the family went for a walk across the fields one afternoon, they left her with forty-one pages to go. When they returned they found her under a tree by the dovecote weeping, not for the story but because she had reached the end and emerged from a dream to grasp that it was all the creation of a woman she would never meet.”
Excerpt from Saturday by Ian McEwan

That has to be my favorite part of this book so far. I’m half way through this novel and feel a bit like the character described in that quote. I’m falling into the book. I like that feeling.

It’s taken me a while to really get into this book perhaps because I don’t feel a connection with the main character, but now I’m much more into the story and I am anxious to know what happens next.

I really want to finish this book soon, not just because I want to know how it ends, but now it’s several days overdue. Shhh, don’t tell anyone. I promise to pay my library fine.

Book Coupons

It pays to organize my desk every once in a while. I found a coupon for Book Close Outs. And, I also got a B&N coupon today. Is this a sign to go buy more books?

I feel like I should refrain a bit. I did go to a library sale recently and just this weekend I was also bought some books. But what kind of credibility do I have left as a bookaholic if I let those book coupons go to waste right?

I may hold back on the Book Close Outs one as that doesn’t expire for a while, but the B&N one might be harder to pass up as I usually go there at least once a week during my lunch hour.

In the meantime I’m still reading Little Women and Saturday. I have no idea why it’s taking me so long to finish these books.
